Ceddy’s Soulful Sunday III

In full glory at The Met, 1982

I’m not a regular follower of opera, so when I do pay attention, it’s usually to one of the larger-than-life sistas gracing the stage (Norman, Battle, Graves, Fernandez).

This week’s inspirational moment is a rendition by the divaest of all divas, the unmatchable Miss Leontyne Price singing Pace, Pace, Mio Dio (Peace, Peace, My God) from Verdi’s La Forza del Destino. Worth watching ’til the Very. Last. Note.

Does “Bravo” mean “Hallelujah” in Italian? Mio Dio!
